A POEM to MY WIFE

written by the editor 'James'

During our wait for the Visa application, Virginia and I lived a half-a-world apart. While waiting, I had lots of time to think of my next trip, knowing that if God willing, she would come back to the United States with me to become my wife. On New Years eve - 2006, I felt that I had nothing to celebrate. Virginia was already experiencing the New Year all alone. At that time, she was in Manila, living with her cousin and family. But her family was gone; away to visit their relatives for the holidays. Virginia and I spent Christmas and New Years alone and apart. I had lots of time to think about what was happening in my life, knowing that all I could think about was Virginia, living over 7000 miles away. Thanks to the Internet, we visited each other frequently, sang to each other, and talked and talked and talked until one of us had to go to sleep. During the times we spent apart, I decided to write a poem dedicated to her. I had so many high hopes for us. There was something electrifying about us together, and the one thing that I knew was that it definitely was better than being alone. But there were many days and nights we spent alone waiting for the process to allow us to be together forever. Again, here is the poem that I wrote to my Dearest Virginia during the times I was truly alone.....

The Beginning

written by: James Frank

One Day on Mate1.com,
My life was feeling so undone.
I am hoping to start a new life.
Very Alone I was,
And now searching for a new soul mate because,
My heart was broken.
But then on my screen she did appear
surely a gift from heaven and looked so dear.
Her name was Virginia,
and what a beautiful Filipina.
We then talked the very first time,
as I kept thinking she was so fine.
She was so humble and shy,
and I kept thinking her husband was such a lucky guy.
Then she told me she was alone,
living in a convent and calling it her home.
She was alone and so was I,
An instant attraction that made me almost cry.
I knew from that moment I wanted her for my own,
to become my soul mate and live with me in my home.
A few more conversations and then I knew,
She was a Godsend who could be so true.
I needed to win her heart,
as I was in love with her from the start.
We talked every day as our hearts grew together
and we became soul mates, to be for each other forever.
Now it's just a matter of time,
She will be here and be all mine.
Totally committed and always loving and sincere,
To show respect and trust and always care.
Our future is bright with lots of love and children,
With help from God someday to live in heaven.
VIRGINIA, I love you dearly.

So there it is. A poem from my heart to my wife Virginia, a poem that I'm willing to share with the whole world. I invite others to write openly and sincerely to have their thoughts and feelings be known.
