Poem with a Rhyme

I've had so many great things happen to me in my life. I know that I'm blessed.
From my wife to my children to my friends, including all the wonderful bloggers
I have met, and you know who you are. Thank you for being a part of my life.
Writing blogs helps me express my inner feelings. Writing poems brings
the calm within my soul. I'm hoping that others that read my poems can
also express their feelings through writing poems, and I would like to
give everyone an opportunity to have a poem published right here on this
blog. Who are you? I am making a promise here and now to my readers. I will
write one poem for every poem I receive from a fan of this blog. I'm hoping
that many people will send poems that I would love to publish. Let's keep
this blog ALIVE!!!

Poem with a Rhyme
written by : James Frank

It's been a long time,
since I wrote a poem with a rhyme.
But as the days go by,
I step back and almost cry.

But that's ok,
What shall I say.
I miss writing to my fans,
Hoping my poems are read across the lands.

Sometimes they are sweet,
sometimes they are sad,
but always from my heart,
I begin to write from a new start.

I hope my fans all return,
as now it's my time to churn,
All the poems from heart,
And I hope my fans never part.

For my fans that do come back
My promise to you is that I won't slack.
But all I ask from you sometimes,
Is to write a poem that rhymes.

One Year Ago, I lost Mom with Her Passing

Today has been a day of remembrance of my dear mom, who passed away one year ago today. To me, it seems like yesterday. Time is just passing by, but the pain of her passing still is with me. Why are people so vulnerable to pain and suffering when others celebrate their passing? For me this year has just made me numb, with sickness and death all around me. Maybe it's because now I find myself caught up in the elder years of my own life. But I continue to pray, and I continue to hope for better days, always keeping into consideration my thoughts of the most important person in my life, and that would be my wife Virginia.
On another sad note, i am faced with another reality of more sickness in our family. Being one of two only siblings of mom, I now find myself trying to cope with the expected loss of my sister Cindy. She is now in the advanced stages of cancer, and only experimental treatments that cost a fortune may only be able to help her now. Still, what the treatments may do is to extend her life for a few months, and what kind of pain and suffering will she have to cope with for this extended period of time. To make this situation harder to cope, my sister and I haven't spoken to each other since mom has passed away, and I only found out about her sickness lately when my wife Virginia ran across pictures of her in a hospital. She had been there already over a month and I have been hoping and praying that she would at least want to talk to me, but she must be so depressed, that she will not even call me.
For the last several months, I have been totally out of a mood to write poems, but I realize now that writing would help me allot. Sometimes hopeless feelings cannot be avoided, and I often wonder during these times how I would ever cope without the love and comfort from my wife Virginia.

Will stand the test of time.....- by Jessica

Being able to stand the test of time is a challenge for most. People are unforgiving, and most of all, not patient. Patience can bring you riches beyond belief, but standing by the test of time can also be a test from God, as God always tests us, in the best of times and in the worst of times. In the end, there can be an indelible bond, that was created because of patience and time.

Will Stand the Test of Time

by Jessica

You make me light up
When I feel like crying
You make me wanna live
When I feel like dying.
You make me wanna walk
When my legs are on crutches,
You make me wanna talk
When my face is covered with smudges.
You make me wanna dance
When my heart just isn't in it
You make my heart sing
Even when I can't mean it.
You make me laugh
When there's nothing to say
You make me jump
When I can't even play.
I'll love you forever
You have my solemn vow
Because whatever we go through
Whether then or now....
I've got your back
And you've got mine
And the bond we have
Will stand the test of time.

LOVE by - Demetrius Whye

Love can be found many ways, but what is the best way to explain it? Is it the same for everyone? Most likely not. For some it is for the love of another, and sadly, for some it is only for the love of themselves. But for people who understand what true love is, regardless of how knowledable that person may be, just to understand where it is and what it stands for, may take a life of trials and tribulations, and experiences with others that will define the true meaning of love for that person. People live for it and even die for it. Love of our country, love for one another...love shared in many ways....

LOVE

It cannot be found through seeking
Yet we are consciously aware of where it lurks.
It cannot be detected in other unless first discovered in ourselves.
It defies definition yet its meaning is perfectly clear.
We grasp at it in vain for it is unable to be held.
Yet we will cling to it for all eternity
In our possession it is worthless and void.
Yet when released its value is beyond measure.
It leaves us with a pain that only it can soothe.
The wounds it will cause may forever heal but the scars
will remain as a constant reminder of its power.
We do everything we can to control it,
yet it controls everything we do.
In the End we succumb to its greatness,
and in our surrender we realize our victory

Ozymandias - by Percy Bysshe Shelley

This was written for the rich billionaires ( Kings of kings ) that think the castles they have built will last forever....but in time their creations eventually become a colossal wreck ......boundless and bare ....as far as one can see. Probably his most famous short poem, “Ozymandias” was published in 1818. The second-hand narration attempts to resurrect the once powerful king's might while the exotic setting of Egypt and desert sands helps illuminate the struggle between artist and subject. Listen to the poem in a video below..

OZYMANDIAS

I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

What is a Puppy

Poems can be written about anything. How about one about man's best friend. Puppies are those lovable creatures that many consider that "bundle of joy".  They melt your heart for a variety of reasons. Maybe they are cute and adorable, or smart and playful. The companionship of an animal such as a puppy can sometimes be immeasurable. Here is a poem by Stella Mortazavi that explains her thoughts of a puppy.

What Is A Puppy?

What Is a Puppy
A puppy is a fluffy bundle of joy
Who can turn any object into a toy
With four paws and a wagging tail
He will try and beat you to pick up the mail
He likes to chew on anything new
A ball, a bone or even a shoe
He loves to run and likes to be
Chasing the neighbours cat up a tree
A puppy is loveable and so cute
Even when he ruins your favourite boot
His adoring look will melt your heart
And you know from him you won’t want to part
A puppies love just grows and grows
Through all of the little highs and lows
He truly will be your best friend
A great companion to the end.

A Mothers Love found on Rhea's Blog

Below is a beautiful poem for moms by Fion Lim. found originally published on
RHEA's Blog at the following address and I encourage everyone who follows this blog to also follow her.

A Mothers Love

How deep is a mother’s love?
How far does a mother’s love go?
Is there a limit to her love?
Is there always enough of her love?

A mother will for the love of her children,
Do the things ordinary beings will not do,
Things that are seen as a bother,
She has them done without much fuss.

Always making sure there is ample food for all,
Hiding her countless worries for her children,
Swallowing anger when her pride is bruised,
Forgiving the very child who hurt her feelings.

Taking under her loving and gentle wings,
The little children of her own children,
Pouring her unmatched devotion and affection,
Spelling out the great depth of her endless love.

Now tell me can you measure a mother’s love?

What Love Is

What is love? It is one of the most difficult questions for the mankind. Centuries have passed by, relationships have bloomed and so has love. But no one can give the proper definition of love. To some Love is friendship set on fire for others Maybe love is like luck. You have to go all the way to find it. No matter how you define it or feel it, love is the eternal truth in the history of mankind.
Love protects; preserves and hopes for the positive aspect of life. Always stand steadfast in love, not fall into it. It is like the dream of your matter of affection coming true. Love can occur between two or more individuals. It bonds them and connects them in a unified link of trust, intimacy and interdependence. It enhances the relationship and comforts the soul. Love should be experienced and not just felt. The depth of love can not be measured. Look at the relationship between a mother and a child. The mother loves the child unconditionally and it can not be measured at all.

Love Is ...

Love is the greatest feeling,
Love is like a play,
Love is what I feel for you,
Each and every day,
Love is like a smile,
Love is like a song,
Love is a great emotion,
That keeps us going strong,
I love you with my heart,
My body and my soul,
I love the way I keep loving,
Like a love I can't control,
So remember when your eyes meet mine,
I love you with all my heart,
And I have poured my entire soul into you,
Right from the very start.

Men Do Cry - Is not a Sign of Weakness

Have you ever been told that a man should never cry? The act of crying is an inner breakout of your deepest feelings. Maybe it's because when a person cries, that there are tears involved. Many people associate tears with 'weakness'. Men are supposed to denote strength, not weakness. But, if you really understand the meaning of tears, you should then realize that we are all mortal beings, and that tears can show basically two things.... overwhelming grief, or unspeakable love. Unfortunately, in many cases with men, there has to be an unbelievable event that effects their lives, before they realize it is not a bad thing to cry.  In my lifetime, I've had unbelievable highs and unspeakable lows, but the ups and downs that we experience inevitablly show emotion, the feelings that you should NEVER hold back. The act of crying is also an avenue of relief. Crying out the pain is one of the most soothing experiences you can have in a moment of an undeniable low.

Men Do Cry
written by Ken Faulk

I heard quite often “men don’t cry”
Though no one ever told me why
So when I fell and skinned a knee
No one came to comfort me.

And when some bully boy at school
Would pull a prank so mean and cruel
I’d quickly learn to turn and quip
“It doesn’t hurt”, and bite my lip.

So as I grew to reasoned years
I learned to stifle any tears.
Though “be a big boy” it began,
Quite soon I learned to ” be a man”.

And I could play that stoic role
While storm and tempest wracked my soul
No pain or setback could there be
Could wrest one single tear from me.

Then one long night I stood nearby
And helplessly watched my son die,
And quickly found to my surprise
That all that tearless talk was lies.

And still I cry and have no shame
I cannot play that ” big boy” game,
And openly without remorse
I let my sorrow take it’s course.

So those of you who can’t abide
A man you’ve seen whose often cried,
Reach out to him with all your heart
As one whose life’s been torn apart.

For men do cry when they can see
Their loss of immorality.
And tears will come in endless streams
When mindless fate destroys their dreams.

Mom's Special Diary: One in a million!

Sometimes while surfing the internet you run across some of the most wonderful articles. The following is a link by another blogger named Jac, who's mom passed away. Obviously, she misses her mom as I miss mine. I invite all readers of  'Poems from the Heart' to stop by Jac's blog and read a special article about her mom.

Mom's Special Diary: One in a million!

Valentines Poem for the 'One I Love'

Today is a day with so much meaning for two people. It allows us to display our emotions to each other. It's time to take time out from your daily routine, and put into perspective what truly is important in your life. Many people seem to live around their job, but will it still be there if you get sick. Most likely not. Some people work so that they can own and drive a beautiful sports car. Will it still be there if you get hurt and cannot drive it anymore. Most likely not. It seems that people live from day to day just thinking of themselves and don't think of others. But there comes a time in everyone's life that the usual routine will come to a grinding halt, and what will you have to show for it.
One thing is for sure. You may loose your house, or your car or your job, but the one thing that will always be by your side is your spouse, your partner in life. Your partner will be with you through 'thick or thin' and hopefully 'until death do us part'.

So just take time out today, and think of that other person, your 'better half' who makes you a better person.

One I Love

When it comes to Valentines,
we make the perfect pair---
There's romance, love, and laughter
in the friendship that we share.

We care enough to listen,
to trust and understand,
To build a life together,
side by side and hand in hand...

We both know that we're lucky
and we've got a good thing going,
Through ups and downs
and give and take,
our love just keeps on growing...

'Cause I bring out the best in you,
and you the best in me ---
I guess it takes the two of us
to make a perfect "we."

Valentines Day - A Special Day for Two People

Today is a Special Day! Valentines Day used to be a day of regret for me not too many years ago. Separated and heading towards a divorce, I wondered if there would be another person to enter my life. I prayed that I not live the rest of my life alone.
One day, my prayers were answered. On the other side of the world, lived a woman in the Philippines who also felt alone. Somehow, Divine Intervention took its course as I met the most wonderful person to ever enter my life. Her name is Virginia. Happily married for almost 5 years now, I know that I've been blessed, and to this day I never had an ounce of regret to have married her. Every day seems to be just one blessing after another. I am not alone. Virginia and I share our lives together in the face of God.
Today represents love and joy that is shared between two people, called Valentines Day. It seems more special now to me than a Birthday. It doesn't reflect my age, but allows me to show my affection to the most special person in my life - Virginia.
Later today, I plan to share another poem that reflects this special day!!

My First, My Last , My Valentine...

The following is a romantic Valentines Day Poem. It was originally published at the following URL - https://www.familyfriendpoems.com/poem/my-first-my-last-my-valentine. Poems like these validate my belief that poems can communicate a thought much better than any other form of communication. Regular stories are usually dated, but poems  are never dated, and do not expire. They last longer than the author, and the readers who read them. Still, once read again, they appear as if they could have been written the day before. That's because  the poem may portray an event about someone from the past, present or future. Regardless of whenever they are written, they most never are about yesterdays news, even if written 100 years ago.

I've never imagined that there can be this day.
A day that love will find its way.
Out of my heart and into your soul.
These feelings I have are beyond my control.

All my life I have waited patiently.
For a goddess like you, so beautiful, so lovely.
Words can't express the way I feel.
These feelings towards you are all for real.

You are the reason why I go on.
Eternity can't separate this special bond.
This heart of mine is reserved for you.
Forever it is yours, this love is true.

I'll be your first and you'll be my last.
My world, my everything, till my time has past.
I will always love you until the end of time.
MY LOVE, MY SWEETHEART, MY VALENTINE!

Tejan - A Filipina Living in Gothenburg Sweden

Tejan and Husband
In the past, I wrote a few special articles about whom I consider special people. Finally, there is yet another woman who has a wonderful blog whom I consider one of those very special people. I know of her only through blogging. Her name is TeJan from Gothenburg Sweden. She is a loving Filipina mother of two children who relocated to the mainland of Sweden just five years ago with her husband. Just as I remember the first time I had those 'kilig' moments when I met my wife Virginia, Tejan mentions her experience with her husband and how difficult it was at first to express her feelings towards him. Obviously by reading her blog, she loves her husband and their two children very much, and I just wanted to take a moment here to acknowledge her for being the special person she
Tejan and her beautiful children
has to be.

She has recently written an article on her blog called 'Insights' that included a poem to her husband that was written by a famous poet named Joanna Fuchs and as everyone who reads 'Poems from the Heart', knows I have a very soft heart when it comes to expressions shown by people in that specal way called a poem. Of course, I've written a few poems about my spouse Virginia, who undoubtedly is the 'light of my life'.
I invite all the readers of this blog to stop by Tejan's blog and read the poem called You Just Keep On Loving Me.

That Someone Special - written by Richard Netherland Cook

One of the special writers that has been inspirational with my interest in writing poems is Richard Netherland Cook. He has that special touch, one that not only must touch the heart of his wife, but reaches out to others to show the softness in the words of a very appearent strong man. I've read EVERY poem that I can find written by this man, and I must say that his poems give special meaning to just about every kind of poem imaginable. His poems are caring and sincere, truthful and such a variety, that should touch the hearts of every type of personality on the face of this earth.
Immediately below is a poem that has been dedicated to his wife of 47 years. I highly doubt if I will ever reach that milestone in marriage, but for whatever days I have left in this world, I want my spouse to know that every day because of her, is another special day that I've been blessed by God to have sharing my life with her. I cannot find a more special way to outwardly show my love to her, except in meaningful words in the form of a poem.

That Someone Special

She is the apple of my eye,
The reason that I live.
She is all that I could wish for.
My heart to her I give.

It is for that someone special,
These words that I do pen,
To thank her for always being,
My wife and my best friend.

She has the will to live until,
The last breath she does take,
There is the love within her heart,
Such good memories to make.

She is the sunshine in my morning,
The star that's in my sky,
And if I should ever lose her,
Then I would surely die.

She stands always at my side,
No matter what comes our way.
She comforts me with steadfast love,
Each and every day.

She carries many burdens,
And her heart is sometimes broken,
By all the thanks she never gets,
And all the words unspoken

I know her life is not her own,
I always seem so needy,
And asking her to do one more thing,
I feel so really greedy.

How can I ever thank her,
For all she has done for me?
I can only give her all my heart,
And love her to eternity.

I hope that when the end comes,
And she meets God face to face,
He will tell her that in Heaven,
She has a special place.

A Waiting Heart

Today is one of those gloomy days, one that is kind of out of the normal for me. Living in Texas, I've become used to the warm weather and the busy city. But today, I sit at home enjoying a day off from work, trying to stay warm for the very cold conditions that have visited the Dallas, Texas area.
My wife is hard at work, not on her job, but studying assignments and preparing to go back to school tomorrow. I need to leave her alone with her studies. But where ever she goes or whatever she does, I'm usually thinking of her.

Here are a few words thrown together while we just sit a room apart, while she is studying hard in her studies and I'm here trying to stay warm with thoughts on a very cold, chilling Dallas Texas day wasting time on my computer. I hope that it makes sense, and that whoever reads this, will like it.

 A WAITING HEART
written by: James Frank

(Poems from the Heart)

I carry your heart with me, my dear
Always cherishing the putters that are so clear

Everything you do and everywhere you go

My heart beats with anticipation
With feelings of adoration

 I've asked the question before
Why I'm in love I must explore

I cherish my feelings without a doubt
For a woman who is so devout
Someone whom I can never do without

Of course this person is my wife
Who is trying to better her life

In her studies she is so sincere
At this moment, I must not interfere

The pounding of my heart will subside
Patience.....
My love for her will never be denied

Two New Lives Begin -- by Don Moler

The following poem was sent to me by my very good fried Don Moler. I met Don while living in my home town of Youngstown, Ohio, and we share common interests of Amateur Radio and computers. Little did I know that he loves to write poems. I'm hoping that he will share other poems he wrote with me to publish on this website.

The following simple poem conveys a message of two people starting their new life together in marriage.

Two new lives begin  by : Don Moler

It is in the early morning
That the sun shall shine again
and all the things you've done before
                                          Is wisdom that you gain

You sail your ship's new voyage
with two captains at the helm
With winds of love propelling you
                                          your future is your realm

You must search yourselves for knowledge
                                          not found in any school
                                         and put to use experience
                                         a wise and working tool

                                         Within my vision pictured
under blue sky's white sails ride
                                         upon an ocean emerald
                                         Is Walter and his bride.
